Osprey serve as a point of escalation for governance, data quality and protection issues. I am also working closely with Business and Functional area leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets, responding to regulatory protection requirements as well as supporting the strategic requirements of the organization.

  • Established and driving an enterprise data governance roadmap including strategic priorities such as implementing business unit wide data lineage framework and maintaining the highest standards of data quality.
  • Ensuring compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirement.
  • Ensuring protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behaviour policies and standards, processes, related tools, and data architecture.
  • Defined roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensuring clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s principal information assets.
  • Serving as a liaison between Business/Compliance teams and Operational teams to ensure that business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated, and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning.
  • Developed & maintaining a best-in-class inventory/catalogue of data, information maps, including authoritative systems, owners.
  • Maintaining/improving data quality standards.
  • Defining key performance indicators and quality metrics.
  • Providing data insights to key stakeholders (product, data acquisition, strategy, Operation, leadership) that support strategic decisions of the business to achieve their objectives.

  • Creating and maintaining monthly reports for leadership and stakeholders to understand data quality, trajectory of trends, identify issues.

Key Achievements                                                                              

  • Developed and implemented the data governance strategy, guidelines, quality, and standards to enable Barclays to function efficiently and effectively both internally and with our key partners.
  • Created a framework within the Governance strategy that streamlined and optimised Barclays’s Data capability and alignment to business goals to enable Barclays to achieve a higher Data Maturity score after assessments.
  • Created Enterprise-wide Business Glossary.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Responsible and accountable for the creation, development and implementation of Enterprise Data governance strategy including Business glossary, Data lineage to cover United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy
  • Responsible and accountable for the compliance (planning, monitoring, and enforcement) over the management of data assets
  • Defines and leads the optimum data governance organisation within Barclays as agreed with the Barclays leadership team and the business to realise the full value of Barclays data.
  • Reviewed Data Governance Policy and standards with regards to data generation, management, utilisation, and stewardship and how this can be optimised to deliver business outcomes and enable effective and agile decision-making.
  • Identifies opportunities for how innovation to be optimised through more effective use and re-use of data.
  • Worked closely with the Data governance & Management teams to ensure alignment and to ensure that the data, tools, and platform investments are focused on well-developed assumptions with a good value proposition.
  • Ensured the data and its utilisation is compliant with relevant regulations, policies standards and processes.
  • Works with other Data Owners to resolve data issues and dissonance across Barclays.
